What really makes your Foot Solutions store unique?

• We are focused on helping each individual find a solution to their foot, knee and back pain. We do an evaluation individually for that person.
• I recently had customer who had purchased from another store some expensive over the counter orthotics.
• He was a tall man and I showed him that when he put weight on those that they were flattened to the ground and not helping him.
• I evaluated his gait, looked at this feet, and we talked about options for him.
• Midway he had to leave to get his wife who was at a class. He came back a few minutes later with her.
• I spent about 3 hours total with the two of them. She had a very bad bunion and a callous under the toe which showed an incredible amount of pressure.
• I finished the evaluation and make a recommendation.
• They had lots of questions so we talked about those until they could see why I was making my recommendation.
• They were so thrilled that someone took the time to explain their individual situation to them and ensure that they understood what I was talking about
• and they were excited about finding a solution.
• Bottom line, we take the time to find out what is going on. We work with the customer so they understand what we see and why we are recommending either those shoes, or inserts or modifications to a particular shoe to make it just right.
• We are not the store that you tell your size to and we run back and get it. We measure, evaluate and talk with you about what you want out of your life to find a solution.
• Hence the name Foot Solutions!

Who are your customers and why do they come to see you?

• Our customers are people who have foot pain who want to find relief but they also want great looking shoes
• Our customers recognize the incredible service they get from our store.
• A few weeks ago I had a customer that came in with her mother. She was working with one of my staff discussing her situation.
• I started to talk with her Mother. I found out that she had a problem of catching her foot and falling, or near falling.
• I asked if I could take a look at her shoes.
• What I found was she was in a pair of shoes way too big for her feet. She had no business being in those shoes. I asked her if I could see if I could make them fit better.
• She said she couldn’t afford much, and I said I was really more interested to see if I could make it better.
• I went to the back workbench and made some internal changes to each of her shoes. I made them fit her feet better, she stood up said she wasn’t slipping out any more.
• She was so happy I thought she was going to cry. That is what this business is all about.

So what makes Chung Shi shoes so great? Why should I be interested?

• I am a perfect example. I have arthritis in my big toe on my right foot. It is painful for me to walk in just any shoe.
• The Chung Shi offloads the pressure from the front of the foot, allowing me to walk all day in this shoe with no pain
• In addition, the benefits of firming, toning, and weight loss is enough to keep me interested in this shoe.
• I have a friend who is a huge walker. She has had knee pain for years. She got a pair of Chung Shi last summer and was amazed that she no longer has pain.
• It reduces the impact on the knees, and low back often times reducing or eliminating pain.
• However, this shoe is not for everyone. You need to really come in an try it so that we can determine how you walk in the shoe and the proper fit.
• It is really fun especially when you add Balance Walking Poles and program to wearing the shoes.

So you get involved in educating on shoe fit and foot education, what do you have coming up?

• As an outfitter for the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk in September, we will be offering some education classes. One will be focused on the proper shoe fit.

• Also, the 3-day website will continually post those as the dates become available
• I am always out visiting retirement homes asking for opportunities to educate on shoe fit and foot care.
• We now accept and bill for Medicare so I am looking forward to having that option available since I don’t know of another shoe store on the Eastside that offers that.
