Have you heard my mantra? Never Exercise With a Jerk! I’ve used this title for years to draw attention to the fact that we all need a little exercise advise every once in a while but please be very careful who you use as a role model. Jerking when you exercise can cause you injury and pain that can hurt you more than help you. Stretches should be held and never bounced or jerked. Strength building exercises should always be done in a smooth controlled manner. Jerking a weight around or dropping it when you are exhausted is a sure way to get hurt in your workout. A good exercise routine should work you out not wear you out. How you do each exercise is very important and poor form has the potential to make a good exercise virtually useless. If you are ready to start exercising or ready to give your old routine a twist then it’s time you find a trained and certified exercise instructor.
